Take A Trip Rules
01.
The tournament each day
will be “luck of the draw.” (cricket-501-choice)
02.
Venues will be selected
by seniority and location, with willingness to meet all of the
requirements.
03.
Venues will be supplied
with copy of the rules, registration forms, bracket sheets, and a
set of numbers for the draw.
04.
The running of Take a
Trip is the responsibility of the bar. However, if a board member
is present at the draw, they should run it. They will be responsible
for sign-up sheet, completed bracket, reporting results, payout, and
monies. (Leave sheets & money in SRDA box)
05.
There must be at least
8 players for a Take A Trip event. If there are fewer than 8
players, they will have the option to pay $2.00 and earn 1 point for
attendance.
06.
Registration will be
cut off 15 minutes before posted tournament time. No phone
reservations allowed.
07.
If there is an odd
number of players, one player will be left without a partner. After
the entire 1st round, players that lost may have a chance
to play again. Any that want to play again will be drawn. The
winner must play $2.00 but no point awarded. The $2.00 goes toward
the prize money. The orphan will receive a bye point.
08.
Point standings will be
posted in the participating venues every two weeks and on the SRDA
website.
www.srdadarts.org
09.
As funds become
available, “dart trips” will be chosen by the SRDA board members.
There will be a cut-off date approximately 8 weeks prior to trip
departure.
10.
The participant in the
trips must be a member in good standing of the SRDA at least 30 days
prior to the cut-off date for their accumulated points to count for
that trip.
11.
To keep your points
active, you must keep your membership dues paid. The fee is
$5.00 a session, 3 times a year and is due the 1st Take a
Trip played in the new session for your points to accumulate and to
be eligible for the Mystery Out.
12.
If membership fees are
not paid, you may play as many draws as you like, but you will NOT
accumulate points, nor will you be eligible for the Mystery Out or
for a trip. A person may re-instate their points by paying missing
and current session fees. A second option is to pay the current
session fee only and have your points revert to zero. (This will be
the member’s choice.)
13.
Because of travel
distances “dart trips” may be of different monetary value and may
not be transferred to another party or redeemed for cash.
14.
At the cut-off date,
the top players in the point standings (minimum 2 or maximum 4, at
board discretion) will be asked if they will be able to take a
scheduled trip to a major dart tournament. If they cannot go, they
must notify the caller as soon as possible, so further calls can be
made. A member in good standing (fees paid) has the option of
declining multiple trips without penalty.
15.
If there is an odd
number of same-gendered players going to a tournament where an extra
room is required, the senior points-holder has the first option of a
single room.
16.
The SRDA board will
arrange the trips for the winners and will include: Airfare
or travel expenses
Hotel-double occupancy
Ground transportation-if applicable
All entry fees into the tournament
he/she plays in
Trips could include Friday to Monday
travel
17. Any
venue not complying with all the rules may be removed as a
“Take
a Trip venue by the action of the SRDA board.
2 amendments
to Take A Trip—May 2, 2011
18. The
individual that buys ($2.00) their way back into the Take A Trip
draw when there is an odd amount of players will receive the bye
point.
19. If you hit 171 or higher you receive an extra point.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FYI On
February 16, 2010 a motion was passed to separate $5.00 from the
Take a Trip fund for each draw. This money is to be given to a
local charity or individual to be determined by the board at the end
of year banquet in December.
Mystery Out
A person from the winning team who
hits the mystery out, must be present when it is drawn, and must
share it with their partner (must be SRDA member, see above/below)
Each player
(team) is responsible for writing down their team’s outs for the
evening. At the conclusion of the draw, the director will draw a
chip to see if there are any matching numbers. Only an active
member is eligible to win the mystery out. If only one person is a
member on a team, only half the pot will be awarded. If more than
one team hits the mystery out number, the pot will be halved.
When there
are multiple pots running, only the first pot of $800.00 will be
drawn until the 2nd pot reaches $200.00. At that point,
a chip will be drawn for the $800.00 and if it is not hit, a chip
will be drawn for the 2nd pot. If the 2nd pot
reaches $800.00, it will be cut off and a 3rd pot
started. The first two pots will each have a chip pulled until the
3rd pot reaches $200.00. Three chips will then be
drawn. This will be a continuous cycle until an out is hit. IF A
POT IS HIT, THERE WILL BE NO OTHER DRAW THAT NIGHT.
